Week Four weigh-in...Having a good day !

Whats up!......Looks like the scale is working fine...or maybe this P90X is the thing thats working !!!!!Or maybe thats me thats working ....Bottom line we are down another three pounds this week !!!!!!I know it doesn't sound like much BUT, lets put it in perspective....starting weight 235 lb..... current weight 223 lb.....weight loss to date 12 lbs....average weight loss 3 lb per week....13 week program suggests that we are tracking for a total weight loss of 39 lb.... and a finish line weight of 196 lb....My original goal was what?...oh ya my wedding weight 194 lb....Guess what I can live with 196 lb if that's where I end up.....BRING IT !!!!!!!!!!

Recovery Week, Heidi Joins in

Hey whats up middle of week 4 here "Recovery Week" Kinda makes you feel like your an addict the word recovery...but what ever... call it what you want because I feel great!...I finished last week decent enough and this week it's been kind of my own routine as Im traveling and had to improvise with in-room Yoga on the hotel TV menu and using the Hotel health club, but all is well and it seems to be working.

My Wife Heidi has decided to jump in on the fun....Monday was her day one week one..No Photos...I told her this doesn't work with out the photos...I did it...anyway we wish her luck...also got a call from my friend Nancy who wants to try it but doesn't want to end the drinking thing...I told her Heidi is in and the no drinking isn't part of p90x it's just my extra push...My buddy Daryll, calls it the P90Z Version...I kinda like that p90Z...but trust me if you want to win this race you need the X factor...Bring it!

The no drinking thing is starting to send most of my friends into shock as I have been in many social situations that normally drinking would have been right there next to breathing....just kidding but you get the picture.

I wonder if the no drinking thing is going to mess with my Golf game? Usually by the third hole that would be a Bloody Mary at my course, Mount Snow in Dover, VT. Speaking of Mount Snow...I'd like to thank my newest follower Kevin for signing on here at p90xandthezizman. I think the rule is "3" followers or more and your not a loser simply writing things on-line to yourself....Thanks Kevin for helping me out with that... I was getting ready to open up a new account and follow myself, but you saved me.

Anyway back to reality this evening when I get home... the 4th week weigh-in....Then next week I have to take my thirty day photos! I bet you all cant wait to see that right...oh ya... you are waiting to see that from day One....we'll see if we cant get them all up at once...maybe.....

week 3 Weigh In

Ok Tuesday is going to be the new weigh in day , due to the fact that last monday didn't work out so well. ( If you remember week one I only lost 1 lb.!)BUT,today the little iron moved left enough for me to say we are down 9 lbs to date Not bad! I would say I'm having a good day, despite the 3" of water in my basement, Thanks to mother nature. Having said that I missed monday's work out while I was pumping water when I should have been pumping Iron...I know not funny ...anyway happy to see some weight coming off and people are making comments so it's a good day and we are on the right track !

Kenpo, 2nd week

Feeling pretty good about the Kenpo work out today!....First time I actually finished a full session...I had to stop twice but I did finish !

Maybe this is a sign of better things to come. Stretch or rest day today and then tomorrow starts week 3

All I can say is "Do your Best, Forget the rest & Bring It!"

Week 2 - Co-workers wish I would start drinking again

Whats up? ...Sorry I havn't posted this week but its been a very busy week...i know who cares...We are all busy...but as busy as the week was i managed to stay on track..Except for Thursday Yoga day...I just figured I could afford to miss it as i had an early appointment figured I would get to it later that day and the next thing i know its time for Arms and shoulders on Friday morning....

Anyway I feel great energy wise...the people in my office want to spike my coffee with Sambuca ! I guess I seem a little on edge..their blaming the No Alcohol rule! I don't think it's fair...But It is what it is and I'm sticking it out. By the way the J-Lohr Non- alcohol Cab. pretty good and takes care of the scocial drinking aspect of my life...

Ok so today I get a call to attend a Major ST. Patrick's party from my friend (Sean)..yes contrary to my two followers here I do have more friends....Anyway I say to him Ok but I have to bring my own wine as I'm not drinking..blah blah blah...he says whats wrong and i tell him I'm doing this work out thing called P90X and he comes back with I Just finished my recovery week in first month and am on week 5 ....To funny right...so now I have a support group going with me and my buddy Sean. The group could be bigger if my friends that read this could figure out how to post a comment...They all keep sending me emails because they say they cant figure out how to post a comment..Doesn't say to much for the company i'm keeping I know....but maybe Joe and Laura could help them out....

Regardless I push on towards day 90 and I cant wait to weigh in on tuesday morning..I know I'm down after last monday's surprise thrashing I took from the Scale with a wopping 1 lb. lost in week one.

upcoming News: April 1st The Room To Dream Foundation Gala 6pm at Cyclerama on Tremont st in Boston...for those of you who dont know we do room make overs for Cronically ill Children that rarely get to leave their rooms except to maybe attend a doctor visit....35 families last year !!!!!!!

WEEK 2

Ok Week two weigh in.....Pretty depressing monday I only lost 1 pound !!!!!AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!Crap...anyway I still thought I did pretty dam good monday.. despite the Broken Scale... LOL.... then today came Plyometrics......Hit a wall half way through.... man this day is super difficult.....anyway picked up some dumb bells.... lets see how they work in morning...

Kenpo X

It will be interesting to see how long until I can Keep up with the Video....But Just like the video says...Do your Best and forget the Rest! Just Bring It!

All i can say is tomorrow is either a rest day or a stretch day and I believe for me the choice will be Rest.....

As I sit here and take stock on the many muscles in my body that are sore, I mean, Parts of my back or my upper legs (Quads) are killing me..of course a full day of Skiing today didn't help them...or did it?

Anyway Kenpo X was dificult but I know I will get it...got two more weeks of this routine until the recovery week. Oh Ya by the way the P90X drink is pretty good... although I kinda cant wait until the 90 days are up and i throw a little Vodka in there...Could be an interesting summer drink.....nope just kidding 6 days no alcohol and still doing fine....

I'm being asked by friends where are the Before pictures? pretty soon was my answer probably this week....

Day 5 LEGS

OK Want to know if your ready for P90X...try just this one exercise...Wall Squats !

Lean against the wall with your feet about 18" off the wall and slide down the wall with just your back, until you are in a seated position with your legs flat, as if you were sitting in a chair. Now just sit there ...sounds easy right...try staying there for even a minute, if this seems to easy for you then put one of your legs out straight while sitting there...try it you'll see

anyway great day today almost finished a whole exercise with the group....I'm getting there.

enjoy the weekend...Heidi says she is really looking forward to her new designated Driver.

Did I mention I wasn't drinking

Yup!... day 4 and no cocktails ...Just a couple O'Doul's and I actually tried a non alcoholic Wine my friend gave me from Christmas tree shops...I can't believe it wasn't any good ! I mean They got good stuff there right?...Yes but not Wine!!!!How ever that made me do a web search and I found out that J.Lohr form Napa has a non alcohol version I order a case Of the Cabernet and it will be here on the 10th I hope I like it...Wait and see.....Be Well....Ziz

By the way boiled another boneless skinless chicken breast for dinner today !!!Oh Ya Eating like a King ! I know your Jealous

day 4 YOGA !

Ok so who sweats stretching?...That would be everyone if your doing it right! Man I thought today would be easy but all it did was remind my mind how out of shape my body is.....Alignment is extremely difficult...but you can feel it working and I look forward to the day when it feels easier to complete the stretch as I know it will only help to be that flexible......See you tomorrow.....Legs !

The Starting Line.... Bring It !

Ok Three days down and only Eighty Seven to go....who would have thought that this much pain (I mean burn)could come from simple excecise...Did I say simple, yes I did but you try putting your arms out straight left to right at shoulder height finger tips to the sky and just turn your arms in small circles forward for a minute and then backwards for a minute...sounds simple right well it BURNS BABY...but the good news is i'm sure its working.

Day 1.... I attempted more push ups on day one then i my last 43 years of living. Also pull ups and chin ups are the hardest thing you can imagine....Yes I am using the chair with one foot helping out...I look forward to being able to get to the point where I can do 3 sets of 15 pull ups and Chin ups, with out the Chair...heck I like to do 5 with out the chair....hey i got 3 months right?

Day 2.... Plyometrics.... Just a fancy word for non-stop movement!!!!! Did I mention Non Stop movement....I was dying... Again simple movements but the constant movement really hits you around the halfway mark

Day 3 Arms and shoulders....I think I need to go with the dumbbells the Bands work great but I think if you are going to really get into this you need the weights..However I'm traveling now and the bands pack easy..so I guess you need both..DVD, the Bands, and Attitude and your in business.... Hey did I metion I cooked my first Boneless Chicken Breast tonight for dinner, along with some snap peas and rice and an O'douls for a drink (i told you i was giving up Alcohol for 90 days, hey 3 days and no shaking, thats good right) oh ya my dinner..well all I can say is I miss Heidi! she can cook ! thats ok she will be here in a couple days..I can eat on Friday .....

Anyway looking forward to tomorrow..Yoga day !!!!Thats where you just kind of lay on the floor right...I could use a morning like that...My upper body feels like a rag doll thats been fought over by pitbulls !

But I know this is going to work So BRING IT !
